I Want to Be an Animator is a blog for those who are curious about animation. The site is run by freelance animator, Chiari Porri. Most of the information applies to 3D animation, but some of the principles also apply to 2D animation.

Design Talk is a blog that focuses on many aspects of art, but has a page dedicated to information about 2D animation. The site is run by photographer Rey Mendoza.

The History of Animation is not a blog, but is a fantastic, interactive timeline that walks the viewer through a comprehensive and illustrated history of animation.

Matt Jones Animation is an excellent resource for any artist. The blog is run by Matt Jones, a California-based animation story artist. Jones shares his own work as well as information about events which celebrate animation and art in general.

Animation Physics is a free, educational website maintained by physics professor Alejandro Garcia. Garcia explains some of the basic scientific principles that beginning animators need to know, like motion and lighting.
